Romix 2014

Hi there!
Last Sunday I have been to the worderfull and surprising Romix Fair.
I say "surprising" becouse in the last years it become a little bit disappointing. So for about 6 years I stopped to considering it. But this year, I saw the advertising, they change the place and  it seemed to be a decent thing.
Indeed It was Fantastic! A lot of people with Amazing costumes and a really really fun atmosphere!
I will definitivaly go next year! Who knows maybe I'll have a costume :)

Ligeia nad I'm back again!

Hi there!

You won't believe but I'm back again! :)
In this year of absence, i've been exploring new things and try to get a more incive and personal style!
Let's see what you think about it :)

Here is a "hury" piece I did Inspiring to my favorite Artists collective Bad Apple Artist Collective that poster the September Theme: "Edgar Allan Poe"! 
I'm not making part of it but who knows, maybe one day... Anyway I decided to give it a try and do one piece by myself! I choosed Ligeia, Hope you will like it!

"Ligeia" is an early short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in 1838. The story follows an unnamed narrator and his wife Ligeia, a beautiful and intelligent raven-haired woman.Ligeia falls ill and dies. After her death, the narrator marries the Lady Rowena. Rowena becomes ill and she dies as well. The distraught narrator stays with her body overnight and watches as Rowena slowly comes back from the dead – though she has transformed into Ligeia.

Vecchio esperimento!/ Old Experiment!

Ciao a tutti! È passato un po' di tempo dall'ultima volta che ho postato qualcosa, ma sono stata un po' indaffarata con un nuovo progetto che a breve vi presenterò. Non vedo l'ora!
Questa volta voglio condividere con voi un'illustrazione più vecchia, un esperimento giusto per giocare! Ne ho altri 3 che vi farò vedere prossimamente !
Intanto ecco il primo:


Hi everyone! It's been a little 'time since I posted something, but I was a bit' busy with a new project that I will to you introduce shortly. I can't wait for it!
This time I want to share with you an older illustration , an experiment just for fun! I have another 3 like this that I'll show you soon! Meanwhile, here is the first:

Guardando bene, con occhio critico, le illustrazioni che ho fatto finora( sia quelle poche pubblicate che molte altre che non ho pubblicato), ho capito delle cose fondamentali.

Prima constatazione ( positiva) : mi piacciono tantissimo i colori che uso.

Seconda constatazione (positiva) : mi piacciono tantissimo i soggetti che ho scelto.

Terza constatazione ( critica) : non mi piace molto lo stile esecutivo. Cioè lo trovo un po' impersonale o comunque non mi ci trovo molto.

Quarta constatazione (critica) : rivolta allo stile, guardando le mie illustrazioni e comparandole con quelle di illustratori professionisti, manca una cosa fondamentale: l'impronta e la coerenza stilistica. Ad impatto visivo credo che non abbiano quel tratto distintivo che ti fa dire " oh, quest'immagini sono dello stesso disegnatore!"

Quinta constatazione (critica) : sono poco dinamiche. Quando guardo un'illustrazione quello che mi colpisce maggiormente sono, primo, i colori e secondo, il dinamismo con il quale comunica qualcosa nonostante sia bloccata sulla carta.

Ordunque la conclusione è che per ora ho molto da lavorare considerando che stiamo a 3 -2 per il " non mi piace" e il mio obbiettivo è di 0-5, dove 5 è positivo.
Cosi ho tirato fuori alcuni disegni di quando ero alle superiori ( non mi convincono molto perché troppo stile manga e io mi ci voglio allontanare) e altri esempi di gente in gamba. Ho preso carta e matita e studiandoli un po' ecco cos'è venuto fuori:
P.S Lo so che qualcuno potrebbe pensare che sarebbe stato più facile con il manichino di legno, ma devo ammettere che la mia visione dello spazio sia alquanto scarsa, quindi devo compensare razionalizzando il tutto.
P.S.2 Queste sono esercitazioni su un personaggio del mio libro "Arcobaleno Nero" , "Sola Bambina".


Giving look with a critical eye, the illustrations that I have done so far (and those few I published and many others that I have not posted), I understood somme basics things.

First observation (positive): I really like the colors I use.

Second observation (positive): I really like the subjects I have chosen.

Third observation (critical): I don't really like the executive style . I find it a bit banal.

Fourth observation (critical) : staying focused on the style, looking at my pictures and comparing them with those of professional illustrators, It's missing something fundamental: The fingerprint and the stylistic coherency. I think mine illustrations haven't got that visual impact that makes you say "oh, these images are of the same designer!"

Fifth observation (critical) : are not very dynamic. When I look at a picture what impresses me the most are, first, the colors and second, the dynamism with which it communicates something despite being locked on paper.


So the conclusion is that for now I have a lot of work considering that we are at 3 -2 for "do not like" and my goal is 0-5, where 5 is positive.
So I pulled out some drawings when I was in high school (do not convince me too much because they are manga stile and I want to remove that print) and other examples . I took a pencil and paper and studying a bit 'that's what came out:

PS. I know that someone might think that it would be easier sketcing with a wood dummy, but I have to admit that my vision of space is rather low, so I have to compensate it rationalizing everything.
